Where Jesus Christ Is Exalted Above Everyone And Everything
The Bible >> What's In A Verse >> Mark15:38 KJV >>

What's Contained In Mark 15:38

Mark 15:38 - “And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the  bottom.”

What a powerful verse this is and a glorious event!  Under the Levitical law only the High priest was to be allowed behind the veil to stand in the presence of  God.    It was a position of high honor and of high responsibility and given to only one man.the temple beyond the veil was to ask for death because of the holiness of God and the sacred office of the High priest.  It would have meant instant death to any who would venture there.

Now we see the veil rent in twain, or in our modern language, torn in two. This tearing was a thorough one as it tore the veil from top to bottom.  Suddenly everyone could see into the holy place whether priest or common man or anyone in between.  There was no more veil to bar the way into the presence of God.

Do we see the significance of this?   What was once a great honor and privilege for one man forever changed and there was no further need of a priest to go between God  and man.  All mankind was given the highest privilege ever offered to unworthy sinners to enter the presence of God personally and be accepted!

Wow!  Into the Holy of Holies!  Alone with God  and able to speak with him and hear his voice clearly speaking back to us!  One high priest

Jesus Christ finisher of our faith! He opened the door for us at the moment of his death and now What a privilege!  What a responsibility! The Bible says all true believers are now priests of the most high God, a royal priesthood. We can now intercede for others as the High priest

did for the Hebrew nation. We should be overwhelmed with this glorious privilege and rejoice in it!

Let us take full advantage of it as our father tells us to “come boldly to the throne of grace that we might find grace and help in our time of need."   Let us come boldly on behalf of our loved ones and expect God  to minister to them and draw them to himself!  Let's take full advantage of this honor and never cease to be what God has called us to be through his Holy words – a royal priesthood.  1 Peter 2:5  and  1 Peter 2:9
